Brandeis Student Events Buzzfeed Themed Bronstein Week Now Clickhole Themed

WALTHAM – After threats of litigation from Buzzfeed for use of their logo and associated packaging, Student Events has now decided that Bronstein Week themed after Clickhole.

Student Events President, Sharon Diamond mentioned to Deis Nooz, “When we first received notice, we were stumped about what to do for short notice, considering that Buzzfeed is an iconic among contemporary listicle websites, so we ran through a list of bloggy listicle related websites that we could apply to our theme with relative ease, including ThoughtCatalog, Elite Daily, Upworthy, and Jezebel.”

“Many of the staff at Student Events had wanted to do a Jezebel themed week, but in the end, we determined what would be more inclusive, and the best course of action was to do a Clickhole themed Bronstein week,” Student Events coordinator David Benjamin mentioned in an interview, “due to the website being under parody law, we can use incorporate elements of this website without a lawsuit.”

Indeed, many of the events scheduled from Buzzfeed’s Bronstein’s week have been changed to reflect the new theme, include “Which Big Boy Jazz Music Are You?”; a jazz themed event occurring at Slosberg Hall, and a guest appearance from a Game of Thrones impersonator, George Rogen Rabinowitz Martin.

Listed Below are a few of the changes of the events planned for this week:

Sources indicate that next year, Student Events is planning a Vice themed Bronstein week, because it appeals to social justice, internationalism, exploitative journalism, post colonialism and “coolness” factor inherent at Brandeis.
